On a side note, why has there been no "communion" tp of Faust #10-#12 ? I believe because the man that was doing them (Darrel?) from Broken Halos gave up on the comic book dream, i.e. - he was spending more money than he was making. I don't think he even finished his own Broken Halos series. Oh, and I never officially welcomed you here, Psikyo. It's nice when the diehard fans creep out of shadows and start to post. And to stay "in the loop" you have to check in here more than 4 times a year. You never know when Tim will pop in here. That offer for the Faust 14 photocopy came up in a thread for Dark Kingdom.

Actually, Darrel is in the process of finishing Broken Halos. I went to his website today and he put some updated news. But, that was dated 3/16/10. So I still assume he is working on it. I really hope to see Faust Communion 10-14 though. And another Dark Utopia wouldn't hurt too.

I REALLY miss when Quin and Vigil would "go on tour" Totally sweet to skate on down to the local comic shop on my Zorlac and meet 'em. Good times indeed. Who would've thought that 20 yrs latter we would still be anxiously awaiting the for last 2 issues to come out.

I'll visit here every day...for 2 years, and then loose all hope the day before Vigil offers free pages of original #14 art to everyone that shows up at the previously mentioned kegger.. Then I'll see that announcement a month late I really hope to see Faust Communion 10-14 though. And another Dark Utopia wouldn't hurt too.[/quote] I wish I was pre-ordering the limited chromium sketch cover to issue #50 right now. I really hope I can find out if Tim will be at Chicago-Con.

Wow, we may see the end of Faust AND Broken Halos! YAY!!!

Isn't it actually 2 more issues of EO I asked Tim about that like 13 years ago and he said he lost his writer and probably would never finish it. I'd love to see the rest of the story if it ever could happen though.. Tim told me a story about him and Joe I believe, where they were driving around to different dumpsters and getting rid of cases of EO #2 'cause they couldn't sell them...Crazy.

That and Gothic Nights are some of my favorite work of Tim's. I can kinda understand tho', EO's subject matter is kind of a hard sell. I'm new but old here too. Hi everybody. Long time fan of Tim's work. Sorry I missed out on the Faust 14 photocopy, can't wait to see the real thing!

Maybe all that money i spent on the limited $25 version of B.H. 1, the gothic nights print and all the other prints and all the varients for all the books off his sight to help him (and my collection ) might actually pay off. Wow $50 bones for Faust 13. heay good for him if he can sell them for that much. I really like darrell's writing and Broken Halos so it would be great to have it completed. thanks for the heads up.

2 is still my favorite. It's definitely worth twice what you paid for it. I was about ready to throw in the towel with comics because about all there was was Captain weenie Lad and the butt rangers chrome cover crap all over the shelves. The store manager showed me Faust 1 and 2 and some Mark Beachum book. The Faust books were only $2.25 (plus 20% discount) when most of the other indie books were 3 bucks(plus 2 had this really cool fold over cover thing and maybe my favorite cover ever). I took them to my Security Guard job and read them and a whole new world opened for me. I couldn't believe a comic could be that good and that extreme and I was on cloud fucking 9 after I read them. It takes some searching but i still find really good indy stuff like Charles Burn's Black Hole and some Warren Ellis' and Alan Moore' stuff from Avatar press to tied me over until the next Vigil bros book.

its fun to hear about peoples first intro to faust and what it did to their thinking of comics. as much as david and i were doing just what we thought was fun, we didn't intend it to be statement against comics . we just did a story we thought was fun, thanks for the stories, enjoy them alot

I was always into horror comics stuff like House Of Hammer and, later on, Aliens (Dark Horse) and stuff. I'd heard of Faust, but could never find it. Then, when I first met my wife, she still had a number of issues from her ex. I can't explain the effect those comics had on me. I then made a conscious effort to collect as much Tim Vigil as I could find.

Faust helped change my perception of the Indy scene. I had enjoyed many Indy book before but Faust raised the bar so high for quality. It alone qualified as justification for the scene itself. If you could put Faust in front of one of the "Indys are for people who aren't good enough " bastards and their opinion was not immediately changed, then their opinion would never really matter again anyway +_+
