I know that Tim and Michael/Castle Rain are not on the guest list but the same thing happened last year and Tim was added as a replacement or something. Any chance either Tim, Joe or Michael Angelos will show up this time around? The convention is one month away and this one is geared up to be the biggest Seattle Comic convention yet(a few people I have talked to who sponsor the convention say that either next year or the year after at the latest the convention will expand to be a 3 day event) with Stan Lee and Leonard Nimoy coming(neither of which do I care about).
I bought my tickets early but now I am starting to think I may regret it. If neither of the brothers Vigil or the Castle Rain chieftain will be there then I have little reason to go myself.
Unless Glen or someone like that is showing up...but my tickets are for Saturday and that is usually the worst day for haggling if you are just going to comb the bins for deals.

Originally I wasn't going to go considering I've done the last seven shows--thought I'd take this one off.
However, I did put my name down last month for any cancellations, but I still haven't heard back from them, so right now I'm a maybe.
I'm not sure about Vigil Bros.?

It's official! Castle Rain / Michael Angelos will be attending this show, after all. I just got the offer for an AA-table, and I accepted. I haven't got my table number yet, but I should have that info soon. The streak continues! www.emeraldcitycomicon.com/

I am hoping against hope that one of the Vigil bros. can somehow make it also(I even emailed the coordinator guy about this) but at least it won't be a total loss now. BTW, I just got your older book "Jestercrow: The Hunt". I have not read it yet(except to scan the artwork) but it looks nice.

David Quinn just announced!! He will be there with somebody named 'Deveroux' or something like that promoting his new book The Littlest Bitch. Only problem is they say he will be at booth #403 and according to their PDF map of teh show floor, no such booth exists. Hopefully they will work that out so I will be able to find him and pester him to sign my Faust comics.

Next year I am definitely bringing a camera to this thing.
I won't attempt to give an actual con-report here as Paperdragon will hopefully do us the honor of his usual fantastic con-report. But here are a few comments from my perspective...
First of all, getting to see Michael Angelos(and his father in law!) again is always great. Picked up the limited edition ECCC print of Jack the Lantern as well as the older print(and an alternate cover "Ghosts #3) I was missing. PD was there with a bunch of stuff for David Quinn to sign and the three of them halped me out by giving me a much needed extra box to carry my loot in(I have a bad habit of not thinking ahead to how I am going to cart around stuff I buy at the con.). I eventually found David Quinn and Devon Deveraux and picked up copies of "The Littlest Bitch"(VERY funny book BTW!) and "Tales of Hot-Rod Horror". Of course I also managed to pester David into signing like two dozen books I brought while talking to him. Of note were his comments about Faust. He says he expects(or hopes?) # 15 to be finished in around 6 months and he repeatedly said "WE"( re: "We will hopefully be finished with Faust #15 in about six months and then do a special promo-tour...") which I found encouraging since I was not sure how dedicated to Faust Mr. Quinn still was. He does not post at any forums but DOES have a Facebook and Twitter account where he assures me new news of Faust events will be sent out/posted). I will edit this with the exact addresses of those shortly(I have them written down in my room). I actually had the nerve to tell him how much I hated the Faust movie but he seemed to understand quite well what I was saying(the pitfalls of having a lot of people with a lot of input working on a movie with very little money...money they ran out of before the movie was properly finished).
Devon Deveraux(I hope I am spelling the name right) is very nice guy and damned good artist as well. His style is perfect for their new book "The Littlest Bitch"...kind of like a mix of underground, abstract cartoony stuff with "Nightmare Before Christmas" or some such.
I meant to get Sadowski to sign my Jack and Jestercrow stuff but I kept getting distracted by one thing or another(cosplay girls with their asses hanging out, armed guards keeping people from taking pictures of Leonard Nimoy without paying first, Lou Ferigno, friends wanting to go get lunch etc.).
Aside from talking to The Castle Rain guys, PD and David Quinn, I spent most of the day chanting "Do NOT stare at 16 year old girls dressed like 18 year old strippers!"(seriously...some of them looked like they were hired to perform a burlesque number at some geek's bachelor party!) and just plain gawking at the madness.
Was fun.

Seattle Rocked! For starters, no problems at the border and sunshine on the drive down I have tip my hat off to the boys for another great ECCC show. All in all they had over 14,000 attendees this year! Over 11,000 just for the Saturday (Stan Lee's only app.). It was a solid show for me. I wasn't too busy on the Saturday, which was weird since that's usually the busiest day for me, but I think the shear magnitude of this year's Con bedazzled the buyers. It was just too much to absorb everything on the first day so they weren't that anxious to purchase. I met up with Gregg (PD) and his friend Tony--always makes the Con better seeing them:). Godless made his way to our table, and that was cool to see and talk with another hombre from the boards. When the lulls came, I took a few minutes and went over and introduced myself to David Quinn, and gave him a copy of the JACK TPB--very nice guy. Saturday night: dinner with PD, Tony and Frank (Father-in-law) at a nice restaurant for some good ale, food and good conversation. The place was jam-packed with some still-in-costume fan-boys. One guy was sitting with a girl and was using his red bath towel as a cape--COME ON! Sunday started off slow, but it picked up in the afternoon when people started to open up their wallets. I was selling an exclusive con-print for the show, and it SOLD OUT before 3:00--fucking amazing. I also sold all the JACK TPB's with me, so that made a usually slow Sunday into a good sale day for me--matching Saturday's gross. Next year they are going to a 3-day show so that will make it even bigger and hopefully attract more guests.

Yeah my friend(owner of the local comics shop "Comic Book Ink") John Munn says they are seriously talking about expanding the ECCC to three days. It has just gotten too big.
