Been a while so thought I would show off some stuff Elric summoning Arioch by Craig Hamilton Elric is able to call for aid upon the traditional patron of the Melniboné emperors Arioch, who is a Chaos Lord and Duke of Hell. He usually appears as a fly or beautiful youth. I love how the lack of color due to Elric's albinism and the intensely bright color of Arioch play against each other. This piece is color pencil.  |

Wow, that's really amazing and technical. The lighting effects are incredible. I've never heard of this guy, Craig Hamilton.

Nice artwork. The artist is an awesome painter. I need to get around reading those Elric Books.

Elric is my favorite fantasy character of all time. Michael Moorcock was always the best fantasy writer(fuck that overrated Tolkien nonsense!).
Craig Hamilton is a brilliant artist. In first became aware of him in the 80s(and re-discovered him recently) when he did that cover art for an indie book called "Blade"(by Tony Harris) on issue #2.
I am VERY envious of that piece Paperdragon.

The Elric series is great. Weather you buy the original six novels, or the newer versions with added short stories and re-arranged in a better chronological order. Someone is making a movie of the first one, with Moorcock heavily involved. If it ever sees frutation, I hope they dont fuck it up. Tim has drawn a few elric sketches that were good. And there have been a few artist that have done some really good artwork for the books.

Yeah I have been browsing the CDs that Glen puts out(collecting the Tim sketches/roughs, etc. he has been selling on ebay) and there are a few cool Elric drawings in there as well.
I have not heard about any recent Elric movie attempts(the last I heard was back in the late 1980s I think when that "Stormbringer" movie was being greenlit) so I will look into this. The problem with doing a movie solely based on the first book(without pulling a Peter Jackson and making the first 2 or three at once) is that, as good as that first book is, the character really does not become fully realized until AFTER he finds Stormbringer(and suffers that curse). In a way it would seem to make better sense to do the "Weird of the White Wolf" first but the problem with that(as with most fantasy books I think) is the title would probably have to be changed because that title does not sell to those who never heard of the books.
