My comment on the above article:
First off, Liefeld sucks as an artist. The ONLY people saying otherwise here I can guarantee are NOT artists and know nothing about art. It is simply not possible to know anything about art and conclude that Rob Liefeld is a good artist. it isn't just that he can't draw feet or hands in perspective or guys NOT wearing spandex, women with correct anatomy etc. It is all those things and a lot MORE! He cannot draw cloth(re: gravity folds in drapery vs. compression folds in leather etc.). He cannot draw environments(i.e. backgrounds). He repeats the silliest...nay, downright STUPID conventions in conceptual/character design(re: tons of tiny pouches strapped to legs and arms, gigantic, mechanistically absurd B.F.G.s, etc.). And look at the curvature of the earth on just about any Liefeld cover art! It is like our planet is about ten yards in diameter with these mega-titan superheroes running right at you! And so on and so forth...
Now Alan Moore is undoubtedly the best writer in sequential art(Only a few such as David Quinn, Grant Morrison and a couple others even approach his talent level in terms of writing), for all of his very real character and intellectual flaws(IMO) one cannot accuse him of being greedy or "relentless" as a business man.
Is Alan Moore a bit irrational and eccentric? Yes. Most certainly he is. His belief in mystical, Deepak Chopra-esque nonsense befuddles me to no end. But in order to level this criticism at him one must first be without similarly nonsensical beliefs themselves(i.e. Christianity, Islam, Ramtha, etc.) so Rob is being an inconsistent moron in addition to being a bad artist.

I have to say that being irrational and eccentric has a lot to do with Alan Moore's genius writing. Everything he did was way ahead of it's time in comics. It didn't surprise me that he thinks he's a magician and he worships a snake god. His imagination has to come from somewhere. It's also funny how Liefeld painted Alan as "ruthless business man". Alan never cared for money or fame. If he did he would have sold out and embraced Hollywood. Look how many times he wanted nothing to do with his comics that were adapted to movies. The reason he never got along with the Big Two was they kept cheating on him.
