Anyone else get these yet? If so what are your thoughts?
The Sar-na prev. CD is a pdf thing but for some reason is super hard to navigate. it is like it was put together for either an old version of Adobe Acrobat or a really NEW version or something. Even after I figured out a way to view the art I was unable to zoom in to see the pictures well. I did not open up the 'text' portions(where the writing presumably is) yet so i will give it a real examination later when I have more time(on my way to a punk show now). It is a great collectible to have in any case I think and all the more so if sales of this enable Glen to get the actual book done and (hopefully) printed.
The "City of Lost Souls" ashcan, I have not yet read(except for the inside front cover editorial by Jeff Vigil who also writes the book) but did take a glance at the artwork. I like the scheme of using B&W + RED. The artwork is, understandably at this stage, fairly unfinished looking. This could also be amplified by the fact that it is an 'ashcan' book(and those tend to always look worse than the 'real' versions) as well. I will give this one a real read later as well and, like the Sar-na Cd above, this seems to be a great collectible for any Vigil fan.

I prefer the standard 'page icons on the left bar w/actual page selected in the main(right) window' thing myself. Simple and straightforward.
I have read the City of Lost Souls ashcan now(still have not gotten to reading the Sar-na text). It is not bad(Jeff is already one thousand times better as a writer than Kris Silver will ever be). There were a couple typos in one panel though("Alfredo Garcia" is written as "Alfrado Gracia"). And as I said before, the art is sketchy as all Hell. I keep looking at the last panel with the naked girl laying down and thinking "Man...if Claire ever looked like that in Faust I would have stopped reading the book!"(an exaggeration but still...).

Hmmm...apparently the reason I was having so much trouble was simply that I had gotten used to using a WAYYYY out of date Adobe Acrobat(like one that was more than 6 years old) but I was prompted to update when I went to view the Sar-Na preview CD and the newer Adobe handles things fine but the interface takes getting used to and exploring a bit to get the hang of.
Not having much trouble at all now though.
