So I just got done reading 1-12 of Faust..
It certainly is amazing, the artwork is great, I really love the way Faust is illustrated. It really is something special, and I'm looking forward to the next installments.
I have a rough handle on what this story is about, I get it for the most part. However, it's extremely difficult (for me) to read at times..
Sometimes you don't know whose talking/narrating/thinking, and some concepts are way over my head. I feel like the writers were heavily influenced by ideas that need research before finally understanding main themes in this comic. Such as the correlation with the Platos Republic allegory.
And it shames me to admit this, maybe my vocabulary sucks, but I constantly had to keep looking up words' definitions, and even then sometimes I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to mean in the bigger picture.
I could elaborate on this, but I feel like it makes me seem incompetent. Go ahead and say I'm dumb, troll me or what have you, that's fine.
I was just wondering if there were any In-Depth analysis' to this story OR ANYTHING that can help me understand this better. From the satanic occultic crap, to the song choices (papa's got a brand new bag?).. any bit will help.
If not, I will re-read #1-12 again and come up with a list of detailed questions.
thanks.
