From you Tony... that's a great compliment... I'm still trying to get the hang of the curved feather lines... they still kick my butt... if they are short feather lines like on the Absolute Zeroes cover... I can handle it... it's the long ones I still have trouble with... I'm working on it though.
Thanks for noticing man... greatly appreciated.

the foot was part of the design aspect... if you'll notice that each appendage is awkwardly stretched out... much like that of a spider... it was intentionally done as much to help show the spider like attributes as well as the chaos of the overall composition. thanks for the props on the contrours, cursives and tapers...

Those are some pretty tight ass pencils! Reminds me of Frank Cho for some reason. Maybe it's that dragon-y/dinosaur-y looking thing. I'm interested in Mr. White's process. Does he do rough prelims and then trace them onto the board using a light box? I just wonder because it's so tight that it looks like it's traced. Oh yeah, nice ink work too.

I'm sure he does... I know a few pencillers that do that multiple times to get the final result they want... when I pencil, I'll do that from time to time until I get it where I want it and then tighten it up even further once there. Thanks for the ink props too.

been a bit busy lately... here's something I'm finishing up at the moment... will post more when I can along with the completed version when I finish. Hope ya dig it thus far. Pencils: Rey Villegas Inks: meVanquish © John Schlim Jr.VANQUISH Ongoing color series. Publisher: Dial R Studios Story: John Schlim Jr. Art: various To learn more about this project: Vanquish It seemed like a prank when officer Raymond Taylor responded to a call about a UFO crash, but the young policeman’s life changed forever that night. He opened a mysterious container found within the wreckage and unwittingly released an alien exoskeleton that permanently attached itself to his body. In time, he learned that this strange apparatus offered great powers---increased strength, controlled levitation, optical energy discharge, and projection of three-dimensional virtual imagery around his body. For more than 20 years Ray used these powers to fight crime and help humanity as the legendary costumed hero “Vanquish.” Then a scientist friend discovered that the exoskeleton’s energy was causing irreparable cellular degeneration within Ray’s body. Simply put, it was killing him. Now in his 50s, Vanquish fights on, even though each use of the exoskeleton’s power brings him one step closer to death!
