Aren't grayscales... I've feathered the lines there... but it's too small, when lowered to 72 dpi, it becomes a tone value... will have to go back and redo that part...

Jesse,
man, at this point you've reached a level of technical competency and control over the tools that it's time to develop a style of your own. you don't have to -and shouldn't- give the penciller every single line they want with the exact line-weight they put down. You're the finisher. Sometimes you put in *more* lines, of finer lines. or bolder. Hair along Savage Dragon's forearm should look like hair. Whispy, etc. If the penciler staps down thick lines in even rows, you shouldn't read that as something you have to duplicate exactly. You just read it as "ok, the penciller wants hair on the forearm." If something is ugly in the pencils, it's your job to fix it. Think "style". think "embellishing". You certainly have the technical skills. But you're right *dead* on top of this stuff line for line without really establishing or building upon light sources or textures. You're really REALLY tight, man. At your level, it's time to start building your style. Don't be scared to make an ugly drawing look better by softening things or altering them to make them less stiff. I'm talking specifically about this Jeremy Dale guy. Some of that stuff is hurt bro.
and there are plenty of great inkers out there to study; John Beatty, bob McLoud, Rudy Nebres, Alfredo Alcala, Nestor Redondo, Danny Miki, Joe Weems, etc.
Gary Martin, Jerry Ordway -all inkers worth study.

NEWS UPDATE: HOPE: New Orleans Out THIS Month!!! This has been a long journey, but the HOPE: NEW ORLEANS charity anthology is headed to stores in two weeks. Buy a copy, and help the Red Cross. (Or, wait a few weeks and pick one up at one of the affiliated tables at Wizard World Chicago.) Here's the press release: HOPE: NEW ORLEANS anthology to benefit Red Cross Ronin Studios' HOPE: NEW ORLEANS -- a 224-page comic book anthology benefiting the Southeast Louisiana chapter of the American Red Cross – will hit comic book stores everywhere on July 25. HOPE has 30-plus short stories and pinups by more than 80 creators from around the world. All have hurricane or Gulf Coast themes. Although it's been two years since Katrina ravaged the southeastern United States, people affected by the destruction still need assistance. HOPE was created to help meet that need. "Spending time on something you love to do which will bring joy to others and help those in need is good karma," HOPE editor Thomas Mauer said. "I think lots of the creators who got involved with the anthology thought so, too, which is why we have contributors from five continents on the book." The pieces in HOPE: NEW ORLEANS were created by up-and-comers in the comics industry and established professionals including Michael Lark (Gotham Central, Daredevil), Chris Yost (New X-Men, X-23), Russell Lissau (The Batman Strikes!) and David Mack (Daredevil, Kabuki). Mack painted the stunning front cover. "HOPE manages to capture the quirky, offbeat charm of New Orleans, and the terror, anger and courage that came in the wake of Katrina," said Catwoman and Amazons Attack writer Will Pfeifer. "It's good comics, and what's more, it's for a good cause." Added Fallen Son writer Jeph Loeb: "(HOPE is) enormously powerful with very moving writing and enchanting artwork…. Open your heart and take a look inside. You'll be the better person for it." The black-and-white softcover has a cover price of $18.95. More information about HOPE is at ronin-studios.com.
