I had more time today to work on this than I thought I would. I'll try to get this in the mail today, Mike (if I can find your mailing address!) along with the Eternal Day books. Keep in mind the scan doesn't do justice to all the ink washes and subtle tone gradations. Oh yeah, and it's 11 inches wide and 12.5 inches tall on Bristol Board. I had fun drawing it. I hope you dig it! And a detail shot:

Very nice work there Jai . the backgrounds really give it the "movie look". can't wait to see it in real life. DAL

Nice, and I can vouch for Jai, his stuff looks better in person. yes it does. I like this piece and can offer only two things that should be changed: 1} we should see her jawline - gracefully - so it looks like she has a real chin. 2} GET SOME FUCKING FIREARM REFERENCE YOU LAZY TOAD! Otherwise nice composition, nice perspective and very nice ink wash for grey tones.

1} we should see her jawline - gracefully - so it looks like she has a real chin. 2} GET SOME FUCKING FIREARM REFERENCE YOU LAZY TOAD! 1) She does have a jaw line in the original. That's one of the ink washes that didn't show up in the scan. I wanted to keep it subtle, so it didn't look like she had a "man jaw". But anyway, yeah, you can see it in the original. 2) Firearm reference...hmm...no thanks. I hate drawing mechanical things! Arrrgh! (That's one of the things I envy about Jim Lee). Anyway, those guns in the movie aren't real anyway, so I figured I'd just make them look like some sort of firearm. Thanks for your critique. I appreciate feedback in all its forms. Rock on. PS - I just realized why my work looks so different in person, because isn't it said that you can't see more than 72 dpi on a computer monitor?

Firearm reference...hmm...no thanks. I hate drawing mechanical things! Arrrgh! Now what if H.R. Giger had taken that attitude? Looks pretty cool, Jai. Nice job.

Now what if H.R. Giger had taken that attitude? Giger is a tool. Okay wait...no, it's not Giger that's a tool. It's all the people that rip off his style that are tools. But Giger is a severely deranged pervert.

To reference another post "It rocks"
But also, the face and hands really look feminine, something I have trouble with often. I love the composition, action abound.

PS - I just realized why my work looks so different in person, because isn't it said that you can't see more than 72 dpi on a computer monitor? Ummm....no. Whoever said that is an idiot. It's all depenent on the acutal pixels you are displaying. I.E. If your monitor is set at 1280 x 1024....That's how may pixels you can display so regardles of whether your image is 72DPI or 600DPI the largest picture you can see without having to scroll sideways or up and down is...1280 x 1024. When it comes down to it, scan resolutions are purely for printing purposes. When things are scanned, they do tend to lose something though. This can be helped by changeing levels or Brightness/Contrast in photoshop or other image editing programs. Also everyones monitor is calibrated differently to one extent or another and it would show up a little or a lot different depending. And yes your eyes see things different in real life than on a computer monitor also. Hope this helps.
