Not mine, just posting it for Tim. It is a great piece, an explosive looking Faust, like the way the cape wraps the monolith

It's amazing just looking at the evolution of Tim's style over the years. This piece has a different energy and dynamic than previous Faust images. I imagine it's because Faust drank M's "mojo juice" that he looks more ripped and intense. You can really see the Batman-influence on Faust's character design in this piece. I wonder how this would translate when painted, though?
PS - Thanks for sharing this Tim (and Greg)!

I like this piece ALOT! One of the best renditions of Faust I have ever seen. Very fierce and angry looking. Reeks of atmosphere. I really like this one.

how would you say my art has evolved? I don't have the time at the moment to explain, as I'm rushing out the door for work, but when I get home later I'll make a post about the evolution of your work (specifically looking at Faust: Love of the Damned).

I was going to do this awesome little thing where I scanned images from Faust 1 and 2 and compared them with later images in Faust 12 and 13, but then I realized that would be a lot of work for nothing!
Let's just say that the evolution and development of your (Tim's) style is obvious and apparent when looking at your older work compared with what you're doing in the present. I mean, if you look at your work from Badger or even Grips and compare it to those "Dante"-type illustrations that you recently did, you can see the refinement of technical skill. Most evident is your improvement with feathering and brushwork. It's much softer and refined and more reminiscent of Bernie Wrightson. Also obvious is the improvement in anatomy and proportion. It's now much more dynamic and organic (ala Hogarth's style).
I guess I keep going back to that word "refinement". Your current work has that professional, masterful feel to it, where as your work from the 80's and early 90's definitely looked like someone honing their craft rather than mastering it. And I guess that's the biggest evolution of your work: you went from a practitioner to a master.
Of course as an artist you are constantly evolving and growing and there are always areas to improve on, but no one can deny that you (Tim) have reached a level of expertise in the field of illustration.
