Well I laugh at it, and at the same time I love it because I do get clients from it. Bugg I added you but I have a question. It is part of a phenominon that i have been seeing on MySpace. Men that do not have children, yet have pictures of their neices snd nephews on their site. What I am wondering is this a subliminal thing to show women that the said man is more tender and nurturing and a good "catch"? you will see no pictures of my hellion nieces and nephews. But, eventually, there will be cats...

Red Dog, where you at, bro? Get up in my space. that fucking site has already gotten me work and more networking contacts than 3 years of conventions. I'm stunned. I've already been hooked up with a Marvel artist and a Dark Horse editor. EVERYBODY is on this motherfucker.
and for those who don't know; I got a job dropped in my lap on thursday inking Josh Medors -who I've been dying to work with- on Grimm's Fairy Tales. I've inked 5 pages since Friday, hence my absence here. My Space is definitely the place to contact me. I wanted to start a new thread about me and Medors but don't have the time. Just look for issue 6 of the series.
best,
T

Sweet news, UK! I've been hearing the glories of using MySpace to network and gain exposure. Been thinking to set one up for Eternal Day.
PS - Once you're on there, how do you find these people? Don't you have to spend a lot of time searching for people with specific interests and then requesting them to add you as a friend? Can you set up your "space" so that it's search specific? In other words, so people can find you by typing in something like, "comic books"?

J, the cool thing about my space is that it registers highly on google. if you google my name or uglyknuckles or Ugly Knuckles Studio it'll probably show me. Likewise, if you know the username of the people you're looking for, you can google them or look them up at myspace. Or once you've signed up you can search by e-mail address. Then send out your friend requests and start networking. Fuck, peeps. It's 630 am here and I'm at the end of a fifteen hour session. I inked two of Josh's pages in that time. Yesterday I inked two in 12 hours. I must be slippin'. g'night.

Since what I am networking for is a little more local based I lucked out. The local goth club has a profile which I friended. Then I friended people that I know in the scene or who are clients/and vice versa. I send out random bulletins about my business, which I am sure some of you recently got one.
And some of the people here in Tampa and in the scene has groups on MySpace. I joined up on all of those. I also made a group of my own there, and although no one posts on it, just the idea that there is one more thing out there with my business on it is all the better to me.
I also did a search in MySpace groups for the local Tampa and Florida groups and joined those and randomly post in them.
I put on my profile what I do for a living and pictures of clients as well as a link to my real website.
And that is about it. So far it has been VERY successful on getting me more clients. I also post on a local goth message board and have so for years. That boards has generated me several good clients. So I took the idea of that and use it on MySpace and Live Journal. However now I am branchng out and have also joined Friendster, Gothopia, Tag World, Tampa Mojo and Tampa Forums.
Other than the local ones, MySpace has proven to be superior to all the other network programs. Hell, yesterday I had a new client from the local gothic board and a new client from MySpace.
And with people also posting on my comments about how they like their hair it has been great feedback for new people as well when checking me out. All around it is free advertising and a complete win/win situation.
