Finally got to see this tonight. What amazing visuals. It was like a living, moving painting. That scene with the Oracle was great. Such wonderful imagery to invoke that sense of mysticism. And the scene where that hunchback (Anthony ) went to talk to Xerxes, the imagery invoked such lust and earthly delights befitting of someone who thought them self to be a god. Just great, great visuals. I can definitely see how people could read too much into the film and think it to be US war propoganda. But those are the idiots that have way too much time on their hands and who are imposing their own interpretations on the film. As I was driving home I was thinking about the honor, loyalty, determintation and commitment that the Spartans embodied. How great we could all become if we upheld those morals. That symbolism of standing strong in the face of overwhelming odds and never waivering in your values and beliefs is very striking. And of course the actions scenes were just awesome. This was truly a great film.

Finally saw this tonight (in the comfort of my own home. Ya gotta love the internet!). Really, really kick ass flick. One of the best movies I have seen in years. Definitely one for the collection.

There's a high quality version out there now? Backed when it first came out I couldn't find anything decent. You really should have seen it in the theater, though. It really demands a large screen and surround sound.

I got a "critic's screener," so it's the copy that is sent out to the film critics so they can review the film in their homes. Eh, seeing a film in a theater really is no big deal to me. At home, at the theater, whatever.
