Heh, if they came out with a 14-disc Blade Runner set I'd be the first in line.

Don't know if I'd get a Harrison Ford tattoo, though. That's where I'd draw the line.

Wow I thought someone surely would have used "Do you like gladiator movies?" by now. oh shit!! I haven't thought about that in years. yeah, I was that kid with Peter Graves askin' "Have you ever seen a grown man naked?" BTW: that tattoo ain't a Russel Crowe tattoo, it's a tattoo of the character in the movie and everything that man and that film stood for. DAL: I'll let you know if it was worth it. I'm doing American Wasteland now and when I break from that I get on here to jaw with my fellow rebel idiots. I'll watch it this weekend. but the cool thing is that the additional footage was worked into the film like the extended versions of the LOTR dvds. This set has both the theatrical version AND the extended version.

My Verdict. It's more than worth the $25 I paid on Amazon if for no other reason than you get both the director's cut AND the extended version and new commentary by Ridley Scott and Russell "telephone" Crowe. I haven't even gotten to all the 4+ hours of special features yet. The new extended version is good, but it's not going to change your opinion of the film. You get more in depth into characters, you really see the villiany and cruelty and cowardice of Commodus as his character develops. You see the honor, heroism and sacrifice of Maximus' character in transition through triumph, sorrow and ultimate self-sacrifice and retribution. You even get deeper into the characters like Juba and the big German gladiator guy. If you are a bigtime fan of this film and most importantly, what it stands for, you'll want this edition. Especially at Amazon's price. But if you liked this movie, enjoy it and watch it from time to time for its superficial entertainment value, this isn't a neccessary purchase. I rate it four headbangers and two cool guys:
