Went to see TOOL last night at the Oakland Arena. Really, really[/b] good show. Here's the setlist as best as I can remember: 01 Stinkfist 02 The Pot 03 Forty-Six & 2 04 Jambi 05 Schism 06 Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned 07 Right In Two 08 Sober 09 Lateralus 10 Vicarious 11 Ænema Honestly the show went beyond my expectations and even some of the slower songs sounded fantastic live. The "crunch" factor was definitely there! They added a new fast part to Schism that I've never heard before (even on all the bootlegs I have) and some other songs had some really cool brain-frying intros. These guys need to stop fucking around and release some official live stuff! I'm definitely gonna be on the lookout for this boot. I've also seen some bootleg video footage of some of their shows from their tour this year and none had the lights and lasers that they had last night. Looks like they pulled out all the stops for this one! Here's a couple of quick pics I managed to snag, although they definitely don't do the show justice: This was worth every penny. TOOL kicked serious ass last night!

Thats awesome RD. I really want to see Tool again. Its been seven years(I think) since I saw them live. Yeah Gots, they really did a fantastic job. They sounded incredible. The last time I saw TOOL live was in '94 on their Undertow tour. Needless to say they've "kicked it up a notch" since then. It was well worth the time and trouble. Don't listen to the naysayers, regardless of what people think of their last few albums they fully rocked live. Forget the album versions, every song they played ripped the stadium a new one.

I must concur with Red. If you have the chance to see any of these remaining shows do it. I saw them in Marysville the night before Oakland. The laser light show was in-fucking-credible! I think the first song just had wierd yellow color, and it flashed like, positive and negative or something, really hard to explain, with nothing on the side monitors. With every song it seemed like the added lights and stuff, plus they showed the video of the song if they had it (sober, aenima). By the finale it seemed like we were cruzing down the Vegas strip on Acid, mushrooms, mdma and just a hit o the green. Maynard pressed a few keys of a synth! Holy shit, they create all the sounds better than the CD's. I really wish I could make it to another show, but the financial gods are always out to thwart me one way or another . This is what I got, sorry Red I think Marysville won the setlist battle, at least for my taste. It's pretty much the same cept for: Stinkfist The Pot Forty Six & 2 Jambi Schism Rosetta Stoned Opiate Sober Lateralus Vicarious Ænema
yeah, you might want to be on the lookout for the Marysville live CD ;P

Glad to see you made it to a show, Ink! Yeah, the only difference in the entire set from the night before was they played Right In Two instead of Opiate in Oakland. The song I personally would have loved to see them play was Prison Sex, but I knew that wasn't going to happen. That's one of my all-time favorite TOOL songs.
I got a boot from the Marysville show yesterday already, but the quality leaves alot to be desired; not that great. Hopefully there'll be another source.

I just realized I really wanted to hear Third Eye for maybe.......three years? That would have made my night. I just downloaded the 8-15-93 show- if you like undertow and really good quality audio with little crowd noise, funny "Maynardisms" and you know the setlist was tops, you should too. Was that a sentence? That show also had STP, Violent Femmes and Primus, that woulda been the shit! Plus fishbone for you fans of the horniness. www.megaupload.com/?d=18LVW64Doops, if you cut and paste that into a browser, I don't know what might happen. follow the instuctions, little bit silly but it's for your own good.

Thanks for link, but I have that show already myself (1993-08-15). It's a soundboard boot from their gig in Hawaii. Pretty nice. I'm hoping a soundboard will pop up from this latest tour, but so far nothing.
