This site has this page up about an alleged comic-book series called "War of the Independents", allegedly being published by Arcana Studios(I can find nothing about it at their official site) which is supposedly a cross-company/publisher rumble between scores of independent characters ranging from Cerebus to Zot! and including Faust! Sounds like it would be kind of lame(for one thing Faust is not a superhero and this sounds nearly as silly as "Moby Dick vs. The Justice League of America" or some such) but on the other hand I would pay to see Faust slaughtering a ton of over-appreciated characters just for shock value. Anyone know what the status of this is? Did it get dumped or what?

This is the first I've ever heard of it.

Yeah I can find no more information about it either. Was hoping that Tim or someone could shed some light.
Edit: fixed the link above BTW.

I saw the advertisement on the back of ''Arcana Presents - FCBD 2007''. It supposed to be release in July 2008. We need to be patient.... Voltak

They'd probably just kill Faust off in some lame-ass way. Did they get Tim's and David's permission to do this anyway?? I can't imagine they could use Faust without it being okay'd by them.

The info they have on that page is all wrong. I'ts like they saw the movie, then picked up a few of the re-prints, and then came to their own conclusions. Bollocks. Jaspers would kill them all anyway... Aparently, he has NOT spilled enough blood.

The above information is wrong. The series is published by Red Anvil Comics and the first three issues are already out. The first issue features Faust on the cover. Sorry, I did a google search for this comic and found this thread. Not tryin' to necro' you guys.

For those who don't like spoilers (minor ones at that), feel free to pass over this post.
Glanced through the first 3 issues tonight. To be honest, I didn't know 75-80% of the characters (it has been some time since I was heavy into the indie comic scene). Some good Cerebus stuff, a few Tick pages, plus a couple cameos from Milk & Cheese and Too Much Coffee Man. Other than that, I was lost as to who most were or why I should care.
As for Faust, with the exception of a small shot of him on the cover of #1, he only makes a 1-panel appearance so far (also in issue #1), plus a picture of him on a wall in the background later in the issue. More just an acknowledgement that he exists & nothing more. He doesn't in any way play into the story so far.
Here's hoping that issues 4-6 have more to do with him, because I honestly can't see the point in him even being in the series if he is only going to be glanced over. Hell, Chuck D & Flavor Flav from Public Enemy had more to do with the series so far, & I didn't even know that they were comic characters.
