Ivo has an excellent business model regarding collectibles and Vigil stuff in particular. Here's his website: ninmm98.deliberant.net/I've corresponded with him via e-mail for two or three days now. The man has a plan. And he's not greedy, which, frankly, is amazing considering the business we're in. He has a cool plan to help Tim expand his fanbase. And when you see some of the prices, please bear in mind that he is doing all the shitwork and still splitting proceeds with the artist. That makes him one hell of a supporter in my opinion. best, Tony

and, again in my opinion, $20 - $30 isn't too much to pay for the very first signed and numbered Sketchbook from our favorite artist. I thought we were all "rabid fans" here. Every purchase puts dollars in Tim's pocket and, therefore, also puts dollars in the g-strings of strippers all over north america

And when you see some of the prices, please bear in mind that he is doing all the shitwork and still splitting proceeds with the artist. That makes him one hell of a supporter in my opinion. best, Tony ok i just checked out this guys website and i would have to disagree about not being greedy. ok this guy is pretty much selling EVERY con sketch he has gotten. to me a true VIGIL fan holds onto his stuff until financial situations beyond any control make him/her have to sacrifice and regret having to do the unthinkable and that is to part with his art OR the oportunity arises where he can sell a few pieces to UPGRADE to a more expensive or more desirable piece. which neither situation is seen here. then there are the prices. Tim can correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure his prices have gone unchanged for over a decade so with that said pencil sketches are usually $25-$35 bucks and inked i believe are $60. so lets check out nimm98's prices. pencil pieces are between $60 and $100 and inked are $100-$150. now i can see paying that for vintage con stuff that has Claire but c'mon these are pretty much DC characters and they are not old at all. he is not really a collector he is what robert would call a pseudo art dealer. i'll admit i have sold 4 pieces of art in 15 years of art collecting and none of it was published. just a couple of beautiful con sketches that went to a good home so i could buy some beautiful published art from the devil of detail himself. if anyone has a chance to look at this guys site you will see he does have the cash flow to buy art and he does have close to 500 pieces which are ALL for sale. he is a dealer out to make his pockets fatter. now who nows maybe in the future if he has a decent published piece of art that is for sale for a decent price then hey i might have to ponder getting it, but he is just a clone of the comicmonster(from ebay) and just buys stuff for cheap and resells for alot more than what it should go for. those are the people i kind of tend to stay away from.

Well, I got homie's back. But the OG's here have a right to their opinions. Which I respect.
As to art collections; ALL of my collection is for sale and might go online in my own store sometime in the future. Fortunately for me, you'd have to be Bill fuckin' Gates to afford the prices I'd put on those pieces. Maybe that's where Ivo's comin' from.
My two Faust pages represent a nice piece of coin, but I wouldn't sell them for less than ten times what I paid. Same thing for some other pieces of Tim and Joe Vigil and Jerry Beck and my one piece of Rudy Nebres art. Those pieces will stay in my collection and probably be buried with me unless somebody has a spare million or so lying around.
But, like Under and many here, I have sold pieces from my collection in the past when under financial strain or to upgrade. No reason to feel bad there. Hell, one time I sold two prints that Joe GAVE me on ebay! How fucked is that? Where did the money go? Right back in Joe the Vig's pocket {along with an additional nice piece of my disposable income at the moment} for a great Gunfighter's double page spread. I don't feel bad about that either.
Anyway, Tim wouldn't even be working with him if Ivo was just a leech. I got homeboy's back.
but I do respect the opinions of other long time Vigil bros fans, Under and IRC, et al. Newbies without at least 10 years of Vigil fandom however can shitcan their opinions until they fuckin EARN their stripes lol

I think you guys both have valid points. UW I tend to think the same thing with a lot of these guys. They go to shows get a bunch of sketches done, and try to double their money quickly. Not just Vigil stuff. On the other hand I see what UK is saying. All my collection is for sale. But like UK said you may have to give me your children's souls for some of the pieces. I think Tim looks at a lot of his stuff the same way. There are things he does not want to part with, but if offered enough I'm sure he would.
