Originally posted on the Castle Rain Forum After conducting a poll at several comic conventions, I got a lot of good feedback concerning a question that I asked about Tim's artwork: "Do you prefer it in color or B & W?". Well, I wasn't surprised that the majority prefered Tim's work in B & W, because from I what I could ascertain, was that the colors flattened Tim's art--I agree to a certain point. I think with a good colorist it could actually enhance Tim's work. So, after all that, we're going to release a black and white version of the color one-shot. It will have a new cover, which will be Illustrated by Kevin Crossley, an amazing atrist from the U.K. whose done mostly commercial work. We should have a preview of the cover by the end of the month. Also, as an extra bonus, we're going to do a re-print book 5, which instantly sold out, together with this edition. This should give any new readers a chance to get a better idea of the story up til' that point. This 44-page edition will be limited to 1000 copies , and will retail for $ 4.95 U.S.

Just a little update. The cover for the Black Light edition has now been Illustrated by Jerry Beck and inked by Tony Bledsoe. Our original cover artist, Kevin Crossley had to back out due to some family responsibilities. We hope to have Kevin doing some work for us in the near future.
We will have a preview of this amazing cover soon on the web-site.

As of now, the Jack the Lantern: 1942 "black light" version will now only be available for order through Castle Rain Ent. I was originally going to release this through Diamond, but there was too much politics involved, so I decided to make it a Castle Rain exclusive.
It will still sell for $ 4.95, but I still haven't decided how many copies to going to print. I was originally going to do a 1000, but now that It's through us, It will probably between 500--700 copies.
Stay tuned!

Not that you didn't already have a reason to pick up this edition--Tim Vigil has penciled a new Jack The Lantern cover, which will be featured as the back cover for the "black light edition. Jack: 1942 inker, Tony Bledsoe, will be inking it. I'll have a preview within a couple of weeks.
