Okay, so we got some bad news and some goods news to report. I’ll start off with the bad. Jerry Beck is no longer the artist on Jack: Ghosts. I’ll leave it at that. His contribution to the first issue was limited to the cover and 14-pages.
The good news: With the risk of the book falling even more behind schedule, Tim Vigil jumped on without any pause, and completed the last 8-pages in no time to save our butts. Even with a short deadline, Tim was able to churn out some really nice pieces of work. Thanks again, Tim! Hey, another reason to buy this book.
More good news: Jack the Lantern: Ghosts # 1 pre-orders topped 4,000 copies (including variant) making it the highest selling issue (aside from FCBD edition) ever published by Castle Rain. Thank you to everyone who pre-ordered this book through their LCS. I really appreciate all of your support.
Even more good news: The search began immediately for a new series artist, and luckily we were able to land Tommy (Batman, Toe Tags, Evil Ernie) Castillo. I guarantee you that Tommy’s amazing work will win over any die-hard fan. Welcome aboard, Tommy!
I also want thank Tony B-- the hardest working inker in the Industry for not losing your determination and focus during that exausting, rough patch. Thanks Bro!

Thats some cool news. I talked to UK today about how things have come full circle for him. Tommy provided him some pages to ink to round out his portfolio when he first started making the rounds looking for work and now he will be inking Tommy's art over the next 5 issues. 4000 copies, congrats Michael

Way to go Tim! I think Tommy Castillo's style will be a great fit. Looking forward to seeing this work.

That sounds scandalous about Beck, but I'm not going to speculate about anything. At least everything turned out good in the end. Glad to hear that. I look forward to the new books.

Everything did turn out for the best. The book is at the printers, and we have October 25th as our release date. It's going to be close, but it should be in-store before Halloween. Oh, and I forgot to mention that Tony did a Great job inking over Tim's pencils; considering he was working on them with a razor thin deadline.

I'll have to pick up just for this reason alone. It's an historic event.
