It’s been awhile since we’ve had any new updates around on the site, which was contributed by a major hard drive breakdown back in late December. Luckily we were able to save all our info and files. Since then we’ve been very busy, and we have a lot of news and artwork to update as you can see.
First and foremost, Castle Rain will again be participating in Free Comic Book Day, which will be held May 5th, 2007. We’re offering a 32-page colored version of Jack the Lantern: Ghosts #1. This our first venture into the color medium, which will feature colors by newcomer Michael Wulf. We will be posting preview pages as they come.
Jack the Lantern: Ghosts # 2 will now feature 8-pages by guest artist extraordinaire, Stephen (JSA, AVENGERS) Sadowski. Stephen is an amazing artist who has done some amazing work in the Industry, and we’re very fortunate to have his art grace this book alongside our series artist, Tommy Castillo. We posted Stephen’s alternate cover as well as 4-penciled pages in the Preview Section: www.castlerainentertainment.ca/preview Tony Bledsoe is now working on inking them, so will be replacing those with some inked versions, very shortly.
Unfortunately we were forced to push back the release date for Jack: Ghosts # 2 from February to June ‘07. This will gives us more time to promote the book on the heels of FCBD, and hopefully an even bigger audience.
In “Spartan” news, we’ve had to push back the release date from March to fall ’07. The one-shot book will now be entitled: SPARTAN: Blood War, which will feature art by Joe (GIH, DOG) Vigil, and another yet-to-be-named artist. Tony Bledsoe will be inking. The themes behind 40-page book will embark upon ancient myths, modern heroism, dark politics, and the forces that bring them together. So far we have one complete cover, which was drawn by Spillsbury Gold Medal Award, Andrew McDermott. Joe Vigil has drawn another cover and is in the process of coloring it. So stay tuned for previews.
