If it's anything like the book I'll be seeing the motha numerous times for sure. but I remember From Hell. That was a book that literally blew my mind. As good a piece of literary fiction as you will EVER find. But the movie sucked, it had no heart! Didn't even resemble the book. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was so bad I couldn't even watch the fucker the second time around. And the book was killer (though it can't touch From Hell or Watchmen). The only thing that gives me hope is that this is the same director that did 300. That's good news!!

I was so against Watchmen being a two hour film for years. way too dense, too much stuff. thought it would be better off as a mini series on a channel like HBO or Showtime.
but Snyder's done a damn good job with his other films, and this looks great. I'm ready. I want that fucker now.

Well yeah, you never really know what's going to happen when a comic book is translated onto the big screen, but I think the tendency nowadays is to put a lot of effort into making damn sure it doesn't suck ass. Just look at Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. So I think producers, writers, etc. are all aware of trying to make the best product possible, especially with the success of Miller's films. They understand how much profit is at stake here.
That being said (and on a different note), I can still understand Moore's apprehension about turning Watchmen into a film, for the very reason Grimm stated. Although at the same time, you'd think if he was involved with the process he'd be more comfortable with the final product. Just think of all the royalties he passed up! Why'd he have to be such a cry baby? Because from what I can tell about the trailer, this movie looks SICK!
