The sky and stars are amazing, how did you achieve that effect? Are the stars negative space (blank paper), or are they added on top of a black background?

the stars were done by cross hatching a area banded out like gasious formation then white paint splattered over it with brush flicking by running finger over brisoles

the stars were done by cross hatching a area banded out like gasious formation then white paint splattered over it with brush flicking by running finger over brisoles Thanks for the first hand information. the reason I asked about the negative space is because I went to an Andrew Wyeth museum and saw a watercolor he did of a snow scene. The snow on the ground and coming down was all negative space. Only the darks were applied. It was breathtaking and kind of reminds me of the leaves on the lower left of this picture. I kind of thought the stars were applied but wasn't sure. I love the work you are doing.
