I asked Underworld about the two that he had but I think he said something about selling them to Glen maybe. Could not get him to say anything more. The only Grips portfolios that ever pop up on ebay are #s 5(Which I have two of) and #6(which I also have two of and were not actual portfolios. Just enlarged panels/pages/covers from the books). I also have one of #4. Maybe I will ask Glenn the next time I put an order in for some books.

I have a couple of different versions of the Dragonquest and Nightmaster portfolios. All have unconfirmed origins. one set of both are in white envelopes with white prints. the other 2 are on biege paper similiar to the 1st grips portfolios.
I know i wasn't able to get either of these from Kris Silver way back when, about 1992 or so.

Grips Portfolio #6 definitely has Tim Vigil art on each of the 5 plates and shipped in a clear plastic envelope. The plates themselves are on the typical Silverwolf beige stock but, unlike the other 5 Grips portfolios these were not original artwork by Tim. They were instead select pages(a splash page from Grips #1 of Grips' head and hands as well as an enlarged panel from Grips #4 of him sitting in a chair, sans lettering/balloons and other scenery & characters and finally another panel from Grips #4(I think. Might be mis-remembering the source here) with Grips sort of half-crouching on a wall/rooftop with bloody blades extended and horribly rushed looking inks(finishes may have been done by someone else like Palmer or Martin), covers(the cover of Grips #1 in B&W, sans the dead drug dealer and scenery and with full view of Grips' left foot, as well as the b&W/penciled and inked cover of Grips #3(no color of course)).
Many copies of Grips portfolios # 4 and 5 were inexplicably sent out in SEALED envelopes that you had to rip open if you wanted to look at the plates or even just confirm the plates were in there. My own copies were sent in such a way when I ordered them back in '89 or so which is why the envelopes for them are beat to shit and raggedy looking.
Any portfolios that were NOT printed on beige stock are likely forgeries/illegitimate/photocopied versions, IMO. Possibly by Kris Silver (for fans who did not get a chance to purchase the originals which are almost impossible to find now, aside form #'s 5 and 6). It is possible however that Kris Silver simply 'extended' the print run a bit and for whatever reason was forced to use a different stock of paper.
EDIT: Just rememberd that Greater Mercury released some portfolios on blue/gray stock paper such as the David Hays colored "Silverwolf Portfolio").
And like I said, if you are wanting to part with any of the beige stock copies listed above(the DragonQuest and Nightmaster for example, though if you have any of the first three Grips portfolios that would be keen!) then shoot me a price quote!
As for the Silverwolf Index mixing them up...this is easily confirmed by looking in the back of Grips #1 where the entire sets of 1 & 2 are displayed in thumbnail. Plates from Grips Portfolio #3, Nightmaster and Dragonquest portfolios are shown in the "Coming soon" ads in the backs of Silverwolf books as if to suggest these would be the cover art for later issues of Grips/Nightmaster/Dragonquest(which were of course never printed).
