I think it works for the mood of the piece, especially the background and atmosphere. The rendering on Tanya herself though feels a little flat. Like there's really no variation in the values of the purple cloak or red dress. They're just flat colors filled in with the paint bucket and sprayed over with the airbrush set to screen for the highlights. It's in no way terrible, just not as visually "popping" as it could be, because she should be the focal point, whereas the way she's colored makes her blend in to the surroundings.
Is the plan to color all of Gothic Nights? Whatever happened to that project anyway? Wasn't it supposed to be re-mastered and re-released as an oversize book?
seems like everthing is colored by computer anymore. colors by paints and markers is becoming a lost art.... inking is next. everything is always better when Tim does it himself
And that is Why I don't buy New comics. the last one I bought new was Faust Act 13. Bought it from Tim at one of the conventions Philly or Baltimore I don't recall. It has a hand colored/drawn cover and I like the fact that it's black and white. I only buy older books and the next new one will most likely be Act 14
