Not actual title just a name to set it apart from earlier painting Awesome painting. The theme looks a bit like the colored ink commission Tim did for me

Love how he is cleaving right through that guy's sword and his eyes are already locked on that dude sneaking up from below. The way this one is colored reminds me of those 1970s fantasy paperback book covers(the good ones...not those weirdly abstract hippy things). That sky is beautiful!
The only weird thing to me is his shield. It seems like it is turned sideways at odds with the forearm straps but then again I am not intimately familiar with Roman shields. The other odd thing is that chick has angelic wings but is wearing a cloak?! How does that work?

I really like the hood, from the glowing interior to the tip. It catches the light really perfectly. The circling clouds really set the mood.
The rock under the boot tripped me out. It looked like he had his feet on backwards to me at first.

Hate to be a party pooper on this one, but I think the painting is too"soft". It might be the scan, or the photo, but it doesn't seem as "crisp" as Tim's other work. In no means do I not like it, just saying I dont like as much.

Say Tim, with all these paintings you've been doing, does that mean Faust 14 and 15 are finished? ;D In terms of this painting, I'm not sure how I feel about it. Something about it feels un-finished...or it seems too static, like it was too planned out in its composition. There's also some funky anatomy and perspective going on, notably with the demon laying on the ground. His head is skewed and his forearm/wrist looks wonky and that sword looks like it's standing up. Also the roman-esqe soldier's foot/ankle look wonky. The things I really do like about this painting are the clouds/sky and the ground/rocks. I also like the subtle build up of transluscent layers on the skin. You seem to be getting that down really well. I also like that back-lit hand against the bright horizon (that demon laying on the ground on the horizon). And the shattering sword is a cool effect (although I think they proved on the show "Myth Busters" that it's impossible to do that!). No...but seriously...where's Faust 14 and 15?
