Yeah, I'm sure some people liked it. But I just didn't. I thought it was boring. Don't get me wrong either, I wanted to see the film. I thought the premise was very cool. I liked the fact that these weren't your run-of-the-mill super heroes, but rather "anti-heroes." That was one of the reasons I was interested in seeing it. But I just thought that the film had no grip to it. It wasn't engrossing or compelling to me at all. I think the premise itself was good, and it may have come off better in the graphic novel, but I think it was executed poorly in the film. It has nothing to do with the fact that these aren't your typical heroes, I mean I "get" what the film is supposed to be about, but I just didn't like it.
Tons and tons of folks are saying that if you didn't read the graphic novel first, you probably won't like the movie. That doesn't seem like the director did a good job with the movie then is what I'm saying. The stiff-as-a-board acting by most of the stars didn't help matters either.

I liked it, but completely understand why someone wouldn't. MOST people didn't like it at all as I understand.
I did think it was funny that Oxymandias could have been played by the worst actor in the world, and would have still worked. He condescends to other people, but it seems fake and I can't tell if that was brilliance or crap acting. I guess I'll watch some of that guys other movies to see for sure.

The movie was, in a few ways better than the book(and in a few ways of course it could not possibly achieve what the book did because some of that stuff could only be done in a comic and not in a movie). It was a brilliant film overall. I am glad they did not give in to the temptation of stripping the important story elements in favor of more action and explosions and shit(I was deathly afraid before the movie was released that they would end up trying to appeal to the 'Fast and Furious' crowd to make as much money as possible). There are more than a few things I do not like about Alan Moore(he really needs to get over himself at some point) but I still consider him one of the best writers in comics and I am glad they did the movie the right way.
