Pretty cool I'd be willing to bet a couple of people have already emailed you about wanting one. What kind of process is involved to make the cowl? It would be great to see someone stalking around the conventions in the full costume

those are great! it's unfortunate that your money guys bailed. Did you work up any storyboarding or other pre-production art?
again, great job!

The mask is pretty cool for what it is, but when comparing it to the comic book you begin to realize that translating a comic book costume is never easy and something always gets lost in translation (most likely why they didn't do it for the X-men films). These kinds of masks always end up looking really bulky and awkward (reminds me of the Batman movies). I think the only costumes that came out decent are Spiderman and Superman (but there's not much to Superman's costume). But like I said, it's still really awesome how you sculpted this. Nice work.
And what are the details on that "Faust fan film"? I never heard of such a thing happening. Was it going to be more true to the comic book than the other version? Would have been nice to see.

And what are the details on that "Faust fan film"? I never heard of such a thing happening. Was it going to be more true to the comic book than the other version? Would have been nice to see. The fan film wasn't something that was advertised, the guys that contacted me said that they wanted to do a Faust short and needed someone to do the suit...they were referred to me through a mutual friend... it was going to be a 10 minute short with about a 5-7 day shoot set in a private location in the Boston area..the problem was that certain people promised certain connections budget & location wise and at the last minute things fell to sh*t...I begun working on the cowl over the holidays to get ready for the shoot which should have started taking place at the end of January...since I had the cowl sculpt finished, I figured I'd go ahead and cast it...I'm going to finish the costume so I can at least have it for my portfolio...as far as making the cowl, I was originally going to make it a helmet style cowl( like Hawkman), but when I was sculpting it, it didn't really come out the way the guys doing the movie wanted it..and since Faust's cowl is pretty much a "Batman" type , they told me to make it like a Batman style cowl...I also had TONS of reference pics and noticed that the cowl would change from issue to issue depending on what year it was....like the earlier Faust was more helmet like and the later versions are more cloth-cowl like..I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out and figure it looks better than that way they made him look in the movie ...with a bigger budget they could have afforded a foam latex make-up appliance instead of a rubber mask, but I was told they were going to use controlled lighting to make sure he appeared menacing...I'll do have one up on ebay right now if anyone is interested you can do a search..but I'll be glad to do a small run for those interested
