Okay, so I don't know who else here has it, but if you don't have it and you don't want to know anything about what happens in it, then please STOP READING!
My first impression after going through the pages was, "It's been years and this is the level of the artwork?!" It just felt like there wasn't years of detail in the work, like some of the pages in Gothic Nights. I kind of felt like we should be getting the best of the best since we're having to wait years to see it in print.
I also noticed some of the panels look incomplete, where you can still see the pencils. And some of the inking looks like it's really rough or sketchy. So I'm assuming this is still a work in progress.
I just went through the pages again today. I could actually appreciate the art more and noticed detail that I didn't on the first go round.
Storywise I was confused about one scene in particular. What's going on in that scene where the news reporter/detective (it's been so long that I can't remember his role!) goes into a room in M's mansion? What is that in the room? Rolled up scrolls? And is that someone's hand reaching out to him? Who is that? Why does he throw the candle at the scrolls(?) and why do they explode?
The pacing of the story is once again fast, just like it was in Faust 13. There's not really a whole lot that happens. Faust is resurrected, the sky opens up with that multi-headed serpent, Faust and creature fight, M plants his seed in Jade, Claire blows off some of M's fingers, M merges with creature and it ends with a set up for the big showdown between Faust and M.
I'm not sure how Faust 15 is going to be a full issue, unless it's going to be pages and pages of Faust and M fighting. Although I guess there needs to be some kind of resolution with the multi-headed serpent and the seed in Jade.
Oh, and regarding the multi-headed serpent from the sky, was that people being sucked up into the sky? What exactly is the serpent supposed to be? What does it represent? If I recall, Tim had been doing some research on this serpent back when I saw him and Tony at Wizard World Philly some years ago. We were at a bookstore and Tim was looking for books on the subject of the occult and demonology.
It was interesting too getting to see the artwork at the size that it's actually being created at, i.e. - 11x17 inches. I think once the pages are shrunk down to comic book size the apparent lack of detail is much less noticeable.
I can't wait to see how this all wraps up in Faust 15. Tim, any chance we can get a photocopy version of 15? ;D

there isn't years in working on story. i work on it and put it down..there are finishes yet to be done from pencils. being that the story becomes centered you get a fast paced line in story..going to have to wait for answers in story,,,

Yeah, I assumed afterwards that these pages were still a work in progress. I guess I just initially misunderstood, because the word around here was that 14 was completely done and ready to print. But I could see from the photocopies that that's not the case. I mean it definitely looks really close to being done, but I can see where some of the inks need more working and detail. Can't wait to see the final masterpiece in print. Is all of 15 pencilled and you're just working on the inks for it? Or are you still pencilling 15? And you're torturing us by not revealing any story line! Thanks again for letting us get a peek into 14. I know we all appreciated it.

I'm just wondering when Faust 14 will be available for purchase, as well as through whom can I purchase it? My local comic store (A-1 Comics here in Sacramento) could probably order it, but as a special order. Anyhow, I await for the final two issues of the Faust: Love of the Damned saga.

Can this still be obtained or could someone send me a copy. Not sure how this worked. Thanks! At the time you just sent the money to Tim and he would send it. That offer has long since passed. And it would be a big no-no for one of us to copy it and send it to you (especially after the whole Ebay incident). So you kind of missed the boat. You'll just have to wait until it comes out for real...which could be years.

Well, I'm officially a big fan, so if I could get"in the loop" so to speak in the future it would be greatly appreciated. It's kinda crazy. Seems like I would check in a few times a year for FaustVigl news and there wasn't a lot. Now the last year seems to have exploded Thanks for the replies.

David Quinn seemed confident that Faust WOULD be finished and published and that they had some plans for the event when I talked to him at the ECCC this year, so that was encouraging.

Isn't it the 21st aniv. of Faust I vote for a combo Halloween keger and Faust is finished release party. Hells yes. On a side note, why has there been no "communion" tp of Faust #10-#12 ? At least I didn't miss the ACTUAL release of #14. Thant would've Really sucked.

You are correct. It was late November/early December of 1988 that Faust was first published(as a regular series. There was that 'Premier Edition' that came out some time earlier but I think only a few months earlier.).
I still remember the ad in Amazing Heroes magazine:
"Slashing Throats in November!" with the B&W version of #1's cover.
